Laura Horsley – Executive Director
Laura has over 11 years of experience working in the domestic violence field. Laura has expertise in program development and operation. She also has expertise in working with diverse cultures of women and children. She has been associated with other organizations working with victims of domestic violence during her career. Some of these groups include the Arizona Governor’s Office, Cochise County Domestic Violence Awareness and Collaboration Team, Cochise County Juvenile Court Stakeholders Committee and recently the Arizona Supreme Court’s Committee on the Impact of Domestic Violence and the Courts.
Laura has developed protocols to better assist victims of domestic violence and their children. She has designed programs for special populations and children. During her career, Laura has created transitional housing, three thrift stores and empowerment based services and partnered with other agencies to provide affordable housing. While at Eve’s Place she tripled the annual budget to serve three times more women and children on an annual basis.
Laura Horsley has a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Family Relations from the University of Arizona. She recently received dual Master’s Degrees in Business Management and Project Management from Colorado Technical University. Laura completed the National Victim Assistance Academy as well as numerous domestic violence related trainings. She is also a certified grant writer and member of the American Grant Writer’s Association.
Marci Chenoweth – Program Director
Marci earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Arizona in Family Studies and Human Development. She has been working with Domestic Violence victims for over 7 years with an emphasis in child development and Immigration reform. Marci began her career at Eve’s Place as the Director of Children Programs, where she developed and implemented the intake process, treatment plans and safety plans for the children. Marci worked with the children on building self-esteem, behavioral issues, resources in the community and education. She established parent-child relationship building activities to create better bonds between the Moms and children. She worked diligently with the school districts so that children did not fall behind in school. Marci recently was promoted to Program Director of the safe house. She oversees the daily operations of the safe house, assists in developing programs and projects for the residents and works with the staff daily. She is able to assist women with their immigration process utilizing the Violence Against Women Act.
